Terms and Conditions for UOB Scan QR Payment Service

  1. These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply to your use of the UOB Scan QR Payment Service provided by United Overseas Bank Limited ("UOB" or "the Bank"). If you do not accept these Terms, please stop accessing and using the UOB Scan QR Payment Service.

  2. These Terms supplement and are to be read together with the Terms and Conditions of UOB Personal Internet Banking and UOB Mobile Services, the Terms and Conditions Governing Accounts and Services and the Terms and Conditions of UOB Sign in by Touch Service.

  3. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency, these Terms shall prevail over any other applicable terms and conditions in relation to any matter concerning the UOB Scan QR Payment Service to the extent of such conflict of inconsistency.

  4. In order to use the UOB Scan QR Payment Service, you will need to:
    1. be a valid user of the UOB Personal Internet Banking and UOB Mobile Services;
    2. have registered for UOB Sign in by Touch Service and at least one fingerprint registered on your mobile device;
    3. have installed UOB Mobile service application on your mobile device (the "Application"); and
    4. agree to and comply with these Terms.

  5. The UOB Scan QR Payment Service allows you to make a NETS payment at selected merchants with (a) a NETS terminals which is able to generate QR codes or (b) a QR code label, and who accept payments made via scanning of the QR code generated on the NETS terminal or of the QR code label, as the case may be (the "Merchants").

  6. By using the UOB Scan QR Payment Service, you are submitting a request to and authorising UOB to deduct the transaction amount from your UOB account and transfer the same to the Merchant (a "Transaction Request"). You are responsible for ensuring that the details of the Merchant, your UOB account and transaction amount are accurate.

  7. Once a Transaction Request has been submitted, you will not be able to withdraw, cancel or make any changes to it. All transactions effected through the use of UOB Scan QR Payment Service are irrevocable and binding on you.

  8. The aggregate amount of all Transaction Requests by you is subject to a daily limit of S$1000.00 per day. This Transaction Request daily limit is shared with your daily one-time fund transfer limit (collectively the "Daily One-Time FT Limit") and this Daily One-Time FT Limit is subject to your pre-set daily fund transfer limit. UOB may change the Daily One-Time FT Limit at its absolute discretion without prior notice.

  9. UOB reserves the right to add or remove a Merchant from accepting payment via the Application, and Merchants may also choose to add or remove a QR-code enabled NETS Terminal at any time to respectively accept or reject payment via the Application at any time.

  10. UOB is entitled at its absolute discretion to refuse to process or to cancel any Transaction Request without providing any reasons. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you agree that UOB need not process the Transaction Request if there are insufficient funds in your relevant UOB account at the time the Transaction Request was made.

  11. If a Transaction Request is unsuccessful but the transaction amount has been deducted from your UOB Account, UOB shall arrange for the transaction amount (without interest) to be credited back to your account provided that UOB is in possession of such transaction amount.

  12. UOB will send all notifications relating to your use of the UOB Scan QR Payment Service to you by SMS to your mobile number registered with UOB.

  13. UOB reserves the right to impose fees for the use of UOB Scan QR Payment Service.

  14. You acknowledge and agree that UOB makes no guarantee, representation, warranty or undertaking of any kind, whether express or implied, statutory or otherwise, relating to the UOB Scan QR Payment Service or the Application, including but not limited to:
    1. Whether the UOB Scan QR Payment Service or the Application will meet your requirements; and
    2. Whether UOB Scan QR Payment Service will always be available, accessible, functioning, timely and secure.

  15. UOB reserve the right to suspend, cancel or terminate the UOB Scan QR Payment Service for any reason at its sole discretion.

  16. You agree that UOB shall not be liable to you for any loss, costs, or damage, howsoever arising, in connection with its provision to you, and your use of, the UOB Scan QR Payment Service.

  17. Unless we expressly state so, a person who is not a party to these Terms has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Chapter 53B) of Singapore to enforce or enjoy the benefit of any of these Terms.

  18. These Terms are governed by and interpreted according to the laws of Singapore. You agree to irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
